Introduction

Planetary transmissions are small part of the transmissions but they have versatile applications. As part of a larger project, this report should not be treated as whole project report but mainly as progress report in one particular area (work package) of the IDEOGRAM project. Other parts of the project are covered by other partners in the joint research project.

Only one aspect of the planetary transmissions is considered - Geometry with Kinematics. Work done on this project is mainly based on requirements report[]. Development of the software is consulted with partner Angred S. A. as experienced manufacturer and interested party in functionality of the software. Suggestions for some non-standard approaches to the geometry calculation are included to suit their needs.

Calculation software conforms to DIN 3960 and DIN 3993 standard [, ]. Chapter gif explains basic formulas used in the software. Symbols used in formulas are standardized acording to DIN. Appendix gif explains symbol naming as it apears in the standard.

Chapter gif describes software and algorithms in more detailed form. Software designed and described in this chapter has been done entirely by our research group which is primarily focused in software development for this project.
