full prof. dr. Jože Duhovnik, univ.dipl.ing.

Head of laboratory

[picture] Jože Duhovnik is a full professor of computer-aided design at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. His pedagogic and research work is oriented towards design theory, development technic, project management, information flow in CAD, and geometric modeling. He is the founder and head of the CAD Laboratory at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering since 1983.

He received a BS, a MS and a PhD in mechanical engineering design in 1972, 1974 and 1980, respectively. His postdoctoral study took place at the Department of Precision Machinery Engineering at the University of Tokyo, Japan. He also has several years of engineering design experience in industry (COLOR - Medvode, SAVA - Kranj, SCT - Ljubljana, LITOSTROJ - Ljubljana, etc).

He is a member of VDI, IFToMM, Eurographics, New York Science Academy and ZSiT (national society of mechanical engineers).

He is currently professor on University of Ljubljana and University of Sarajevo.

asis. dr. Tomaž Kolšek, univ.dipl.ing.

3D modelling, FEM analysis, CFD analysis, Software development

[picture] Tomaž Kolšek is an assistant at Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Ljubljana. He prepares exercises for student groups for CAD and like subjects. He graduated in 1992, received his MSc in 1996 and became PhD in 2002. The areas of interest are: 3D computer modelling, Curves and surfaces in CAD, Using Finite Elements Analysys for solving problems in the statics and dynamics of structures, Water turbine CFD simulations, Development of computational grid generation tools, Software development for analysis of the human foot shape.

M.Sc. Leon Kos, univ.dipl.ing.

Computer graphics

[picture] Leon Kos is a PhD student at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. His research work is oriented toward rendering techniques, virtual paralelism and the use of computer graphics in general.

He received a BS and a MS in mechanical engineering design from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Ljubljana in 1991 and 1995, respectively.

He is currently working on his PhD thesis. He is a member of Slovenian artificial intelligence society (SLAIS) and Eurographics.

asis.dr. Jože Tavčar, univ.dipl.ing.

PDM systems

[picture] Jože Tavčar's research work is oriented toward information flow in the CAD process, Product Data Management (PDM), project management with quality assurance and classification for design engineers.

He received BS, MS and PhD in mechanical engineering design from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Ljubljana in 1990, 1994 and 1999, respectively.

Currently he works on applying of PDM systems into industry.

Models of engineering design

[picture] His research work is oriented towards the models of engineering design, mainly the conceptual design phase, and the use of computers in designing technical systems in general.

He received BS, MS and PhD in mechanical engineering design from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Ljubljana in 1989, 1992 and 1998, respectively.

He is a member of Slovenian artificial intelligence society (SLAIS) and IFToMM. He is also a consultant to the Litostroj EI Ltd, Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Janez Krek, univ.dipl.ing.

System administration, software development

[picture] Janez Krek is an postgraduate student at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. He received a BS from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Ljubljana in 1996. He is currently working as system administrator and software developer.

Dr. Nikola Jelič, dipl.ing.

Researcher

[slika] He is currently working on Computational Fluid Dynamics, i.e., on the flow prediction in turbomachinery. He is also very active in the field of plasma physics. Special fields of his interest are also Classical Electrodinamics, Nonequilibrium statistical Physics and Holography.

Matjaž Šubelj

Researcher

[slika] Matjaž Šubelj is a post-graduate student at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Ljubljana, where he also received his BSc degree in 2001.

His work is oriented towards computer graphics and meshing techniques.

Janez Benedičič

Researcher

[slika] Janez Benedičič is a post-graduate student at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. He currently works on projects from industry.

Ivan Demšar

[slika] Ivan Demšar is a post-graduate student at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia.

He currently works on research projects.
